School Ethos and Aims

At Great Hockham Primary School and Nursery we aim to support every child to reach their full potential, in a safe, stimulating and ambitious environment.  

Three bold words to form our vision.  We are Creative, Caring and Daring.

Creative. We strive to be creative in everything we do. Whilst we rely on trusted and effective approaches to teaching and learning, we also look to creative and unusual ways of getting around challenges. We seek to use interesting and unusual approaches to learning and problem solving. We love using our imaginations to move ourselves forward. When we think of our school, we think of creative minds coming together to solve problems.

Caring. Our day to day philosophy, our toolkit for sustained emotional well being is packed with a caring approach. Sharing, support, nurture, friendship, kindness and fun. When we think of our school, we think of a caring community.

Daring. We take calculated risks. We go outside more. We take our learning to different places. We aim to stretch our own learning and understanding by daring to do that little bit more. We understand that we achieve more by taking that extra step. When we think of our school, we think of a learning community that pushes itself further and further in order to achieve.
