The Great Science Share
Report by Jemima and Olivia
The Great Science Share is where all the classes share their learning with a different class. They use a range of science skills e.g. Observation over time, Pattern seeking, Classification, Comparative and fair testing and Data handling. What each class did is below:
Rabbits: Shared a Classification activity with Hedgehogs - a scavenger hunt sorting and grouping 15 objects they found outside
Owls: A comparative test - they had two eggs - both in water. Hedgehogs had to figure out why one egg was floating and one was sinking
Deers: Pattern seeking - they had a marshmallow teacake and had to build a structure round it to stop it from breaking when a ball was dropped on it, just like how your brain is protected by your skull and skin
Hedgehogs: A range of enquiry types - they ran 8 stalls with different activities to explore heart rate, pulse and circulation

Magic!
Meteor Shower! Children across the school were asked to create a piece of artwork inspired by a meteor shower...
Hedgehogs explored pendulums this week. Some chose to combine art and science - look at the wonderful results!
Science Communication: Look at the great science videos our children have created
Children were asked to create videos to explain a variety of science concepts and/or to explain their investigations. If you would like to add to the collection, please send in your video to the office or to your child's teacher and I will upload them here.
